ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SPLDV BERDASARKAN TAHAPAN NEWMAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV) berdasarkan tahapan Newman Error Analysis. Subjek penelitian adalah 26 siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Tinambung untuk tahap kuantitatif dan 4 siswa untuk tahap kualitatif yang dipilih berdasarkan kategori kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes diagnostik tiga soal cerita SPLDV dan pedoman wawancara semi-terstruktur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan terbesar terjadi pada tahap process skills (93,6%), diikuti transformation (84,6%), comprehension (83,3%), serta reading dan encoding masing-masing sebesar 80,8%. Kategorisasi kemampuan siswa memperlihatkan bahwa mayoritas berada pada kategori rendah (88,5%), sementara hanya 7,7% yang berada pada kategori sedang dan 3,8% pada kategori tinggi. Data kualitatif mengungkap bahwa kesalahan disebabkan oleh keterbatasan pemahaman bahasa, kurangnya penguasaan konsep dasar, kesulitan dalam pemodelan matematis, kelemahan prosedural, serta tidak menuliskan jawaban akhir sesuai konteks.
