Abstract
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbandingan penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) dan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII MTs. Al-Khaeriyah Murante. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs. Al-Khaeriyah Murante yang terdiri dari dua kelas dan dengan teknik total sampling terpilih dua kelas sebagai sampel yaitu kelas VIII B sebagai kelas Eksperimen 1 dan VIII A sebagai kelas eskperimen 2. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII MTs. Al-Khaeriyah Murante sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar berada pada kateogri sangat rendah dan setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berada pada kategori sedang. 2) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII MTs. Al-Khaeriyah Murante sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar berada pada kateogri sangat rendah dan setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berada pada kategori sedang. 3) Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model Problem Based Learning (PBL).
