Statistik merupakan kompetensi penting yang harus dikuasai oleh calon guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) untuk mendukung pengambilan keputusan berbasis data dalam pembelajaran. Namun, hambatan belajar statistik masih menjadi tantangan serius bagi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat hambatan belajar statistik serta mengungkap faktor-faktor penyebabnya dan memahami pengalaman serta persepsi mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran statistik. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan mixed methods dengan model deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 71 mahasiswa Penelitian ini melibatkan 71 mahasiswa dari dua kelas yang tengah menempuh mata kuliah Statistik Dasar pada semester genap tahun akademik 2024/2025 di Program Studi PGSD Universitas Negeri Makassar. Kedua kelas yang dipilih untuk penelitian ini diampu oleh dua dosen yang berbeda. Instrumen penelitian meliputi angket tertutup berbasis skala Likert dan angket terbuka, dengan validitas instrumen diuji menggunakan metode Gregory. Data kuantitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik dan triangulasi sumber melalui wawancara dosen pengampu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hambatan terbesar terdapat pada dimensi kognitif dengan kategori tinggi, sedangkan hambatan afektif berada pada kategori sedang, dan hambatan pada dimensi metode serta teknologi tergolong rendah. Faktor penyebab utama hambatan adalah kesulitan memahami konsep dasar statistik, keterbatasan dalam interpretasi data, serta kecemasan terhadap angka dan rumus. Mahasiswa juga menilai pembelajaran statistik yang diterima masih bersifat abstrak dan kurang aplikatif, serta mengusulkan penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan penggunaan teknologi yang lebih intensif. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan strategi pembelajaran statistik yang lebih kontekstual dan inovatif untuk meningkatkan kompetensi calon guru SD.
