Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan generalisasi matematis yang ditinjau dari gaya kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siswa kelas VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 32 Makassar semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan generalisasi matematis, tes Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT) untuk mengetahui jenis gaya kognitif siswa, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent dan field dependent secara bersamaan mampu menjawab dengan tepat dan memenuhi pencapaian indikator soal dengan baik pada aspek mempersepsi (menyatakan) pola. Siswa field independent yang telah mampu menggunakan aspek mempersepsi (menyatakan) pola, menentukan struktur/data/gambaran berikutnya, dan memformulasikan keumuman secara simbolis (membuat konjektur) dengan baik, namun belum mampu menggunakan hasil generalisasi untuk menyelesaikan masalah. Siswa field dependent belum mampu menentukan struktur/data/gambaran berikutnya dan belum dapat memformulasikan keumuman secara simbolis dengan baik.
