PENGARUH PENDEKATAN RIGOROUS MATHEMATICAL THINKING (RMT) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VII SMP

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran Rigorous Mathematical Thinking. Satuan eksperimen penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIa SMP Negeri 4 Lamasi yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling sehingga terpilihlah satu eskperimen yaitu kelas VIIa di ajar dengan pendekatan pembelajaran Rigorous Mathematical Thinking. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri atas data kemampuan komunikasi, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, aktivitas siswa, dan angket respon siswa.Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Hasil penelitian adalah: (1) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri 4 Lamasi sebelum diajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan Rigorous Mathematical Thinking berada pada kategori sangat rendah. (2) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri 4 Lamasi setelah diajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan Rigorous Mathematical Thinking berada pada kategori tinggi. (3) Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri 4 Lamasi setelah diterapkan pendekatan Rigorous Mathematical Thinking.
