Light quality is one of the key factors influencing microgreen production in controlled environments. LED lamps are widely used because they generate a light spectrum that can be adjusted according to plant needs, with high energy efficiency and low heat emission. This study aims to determine the effect of different light spectra between white LED and multispectral LED on the growth, polyphenol content, and antioxidant activity of broccoli microgreens. The study employed a Completely Randomised Design with treatments consisting of different LED light spectra, namely white LED and multispectral LED, in broccoli microgreen cultivation. Observed parameters included plant height and fresh weight, polyphenol content, and antioxidant activity. Data were analysed using a t-test at 5% significance level. The results showed that the type of LED light had no significant effect on the plant height or fresh weight of broccoli microgreen. Conversely, the use of multispectral LED lights yielded higher polyphenol content and stronger antioxidant activity, as evidenced by the lower IC50 values. Polyphenol content also shows a strong positive correlation with antioxidant activity. The results of this study support the use of multispectral LED light for cultivating broccoli microgreens in controlled environments to produce product with improved functional quality. These findings can serve as a basis for developing high quality microgreen production systems, particularly to meet the demand for functional foods rich in bioactive compounds and high in antioxidant activity.
