DIAGNOSIS KESULITAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL MATEMATIKA BERDASARKAN TINGKAT KEMAMPUAN MATEMATIKA PADA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiagnosa kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika, diantaranya kesulitan dalam menggunakan konsep, prinsip, dan menyelesaikan masalah verbal. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 3 orang dari 38 orang dari dua kelas berbeda pada Kelas VIII SMP Unismuh Makassar yang dikategorikan kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes kesulitan menyelesaikan soal dan pedoman Wawancara.Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes dan metode wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan yang dialami oleh siswa berdasarkan indikator kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal yaitu, siswa kemampuan matematika tinggi mengalami kesulitan dalam menggunakan konsep yang berkaitan dengan rumus, Siswa kemampuan matematika sedang mengalami kesulitan dalam menggunakan prinsip yang berkaitan tidak menyelesaikan perhitungan, dan siswa kemampuan matematika rendah mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan masalah verbal yang berkaitan dengan penarikan kesimpulan, hal ini disebabkan kurangnya pemahaman konsep maupun prinsip, serta siswa juga mengalami kesulitan menyelesaikan masalah verbal matematika yang belum mampu secara optimal sehingga menyebabkan siswa kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal bangun ruang sisi datar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas, disimpulkan bahwa kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika berpengaruh terhadap siswa Kelas VIII SMP Unismuh Makassar.
