Abstract

Keberhasilan suatu pembelajaran tidak hanya ditunjang dengan kognitif siswa, melainkan juga sikap. Sikap yang memiliki peran penting dalam menunjang keberhasilan suatu pembelajaran ialah sikap responsif. Sikap responsif sendiri bermakna suatu respon positif yang dapat dilihat melalui keaktifan, tanggung jawab, dan kepekaan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan upaya membangun sikap responsif siswa dengan menggunakan metode diskusi berbasis masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika. Melalui penelitian pada siswa kelas VIII di salah satu sekolah yang terletak di Lampung, ditemukan bahwa siswa kurang menunjukkan sikap responsif yang baik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan tujuan memaparkan natur siswa dan di sisi lain peran guru dalam upaya mendorong sikap responsif siswa pada pembelajaran matematika. Hasil pada penelitian ini, sikap responsif siswa setelah diterapkannya metode diskusi berbasis masalah matematis mengalami peningkatan. Saran dalam hal ini adalah orang tua mampu bekerja sama bersama guru untuk menunjang keberhasilan upaya peningkatan sikap responsif siswa.
