Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji transformasi representasi subjektivitas perempuan dalam adaptasi Gadis Kretek dari novel Ratih Kumala (2012) ke serial Netflix karya Kamila Andini dan Ifa Isfansyah (2023). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perubahan naratif dan karakterisasi serta dampaknya terhadap representasi subjektivitas perempuan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan analisis tekstual komparatif, menggunakan teori adaptasi Linda Hutcheon dan feminisme eksistensialisme Simone de Beauvoir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pergeseran fokus naratif dari kisah keluarga dan bisnis kretek dalam novel menuju pengalaman personal Jeng Yah dalam serial. Perubahan ini ditandai oleh penggunaan sudut pandang yang lebih berpusat pada Jeng Yah serta teknik monolog internal dan voice-over yang menampilkan pengalaman hidup dan resistensinya secara lebih eksplisit. Secara ideologis, serial memperkuat representasi subjektivitas perempuan melalui resistensi terhadap struktur patriarki. Namun, subjektivitas tersebut belum sepenuhnya otonom karena masih dibingkai oleh perspektif laki-laki. Dengan demikian, adaptasi ini bersifat progresif, tetapi belum sepenuhnya radikal.
