Abstract
"Ibuku Perempuan Mong Kap San" adalah cerita pendek yang ditulis oleh Sunlie Thomas Alexander, seorang penulis Tionghoa dari Pulau Bangka. Cerita pendek ini, yang diterbitkan dalam edisi 18 Februari 2018 surat kabar Jawa Pos, membahas subalternitas yang dialami oleh seorang wanita Tionghoa di Pulau Bangka. Untuk menguraikan hal ini, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis kualitatif dengan pendekatan poskolonial, khususnya teori subaltern yang dikemukakan oleh Spivak dan teori perlawanan yang ditemukan oleh Scott. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan bahwa "Ibuku Perempuan Mong Kap San" menunjukkan subalternitas berlapis dari wanita Tionghoa yang diwakili oleh sosok Ibu. Subalternitas berlapis ini disebabkan oleh posisi Sosok Ibu yang berada di persimpangan ras, stratifikasi sosial, dan gender, yaitu sebagai keturunan Tionghoa, sebagai anggota kelompok Mong Kap San, dan sebagai seorang wanita. Namun, penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa ada upaya perlawanan atau pertahanan yang dilakukan oleh Sosok Ibu terhadap superioritas, termasuk dengan mempertahankan kepercayaan, bahasa, dan masakan.
