Tujuan penelitian ini fokus dalam (1) mengindentifikasi masalah yaitu nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam Novel Mimpi Anak Pulau, teknik pengumpulan data ini adalah, kata – kata, frase-frase, pola –pola perilaku, cara – cara berpikir subjek, dan peristiwa – peristiwa tertentu, farse ini merupakan kategori – kategori pengodean. Kategori pengodean merupakan suatu cara penyortian data deskritif yang telah anda kumpulkan.teknik pengumpulan data sekunder, subjeknya yaitu adalah novel yang berjudul “ Mimpi Anak Pulau Karya Abidah El Khalieqy. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diatas dan pembahasan dilakukan mengindentifikasi novel yang berjudul “Mimpi Anak Pulau”, Karya Abidah El Khalieqy”. Terdapat 22 Nilai karakter yang terkandung dalam novel, tetapi dalam penelitian ini peneliti menemukan Nilai Tambahan, Nilai yang Terkandung dalam novel Anak Pulau Karya Abidah El Khalieqy yaitu Nilai kesabaran dan Nilai Seni, dan 18 Nilai yaitu Nilai Religius, Nilai Disiplin, Nilai Kerja keras, Nilai Kreatif, Nilai Mandiri, Nilai Demokratif, Nilai Rasa Ingin Tahu, Nilai Semangat Kebangsaan, Nilai Cinta Tanah Air, Nilai Menghargai Prestasi, Nilai Bersahabat, Nilai Cinta Damai, Nilai Gemar Membaca, Nilai Peduli Lingkungan, Nilai Peduli Sosial, dan Nilai Tanggung Jawab.
