Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model dua tinggal dua tamu (two stay two stray) pada pembelajaran memarafrasekan cerpen siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Mappedeceng. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian yang terdiri dari dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Penelitian ini didesain dengan menggunakan pretestposttest control group design. Sampel pada penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas VIID sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIIB sebagai kelas kontrol, yang ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model two stay two stray dalam memarafrasekan cerpen siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Mappedeceng. Ini dibuktikkan dari hasil uji t-test dengan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh p < 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05). Artinya, ada perbedaan kemampuan memarafrasekan cerpen antara kelompok yang menerapkan model two stay two stray dengan yang tidak menerapkan model two stay two stray. Hal tersebut juga didukung dari perbedaan nilai rata-rata (mean) posttest memarafrasekan cerpen kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen memiliki nilai rata-rata 22,783 sedangkan kelompok kontrol memiliki nilai rata-rata 27,318.
