PEMAHAMAN KONSEP BILANGAN PADA SISWA SMP DITINJAU DARI ADVERSITY QUOTIENT

Abstract
Pemahaman konsep merupakan tujuan utama pembelajaran matematika, khususnya pada materi bilangan rasional di jenjang SMP, namun kondisi di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep bilangan yang dimiliki siswa masih lemah. Selain faktor kognitif, faktor non-kognitif seperti Adversity Quotient (AQ) juga memengaruhi kemampuan siswa dalam menghadapi kesulitan belajar matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep bilangan rasional pada siswa SMP ditinjau dari tipe Adversity Quotient, yaitu Climber, Camper, dan Quitter. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek tiga siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 15 Surabaya yang dipilih berdasarkan hasil Tes Kemampuan Matematika dan Adversity Response Profile, masing-masing mewakili satu tipe AQ dengan kemampuan matematika dan jenis kelamin yang setara. Data dikumpulkan melalui Tes Pemahaman Konsep dan wawancara semi-terstruktur, kemudian dianalisis melalui tahap kondensasi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan dan verifikasi simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan tipe Climber mampu mencapai pemahaman konsep bilangan rasional secara konsisten pada empat indikator, meskipun masih terdapat kekurangan pada kelengkapan syarat dan ketepatan istilah saat menyatakan ulang konsep. Siswa dengan tipe Camper mampu mencapai pemahaman konsep, tetapi penjelasan verbalnya masih bersifat dasar dan cenderung bergantung pada satu bentuk representasi. Siswa dengan tipe Quitter belum sepenuhnya mencapai pemahaman konsep bilangan rasional karena masih bergantung pada hafalan prosedur serta kurang mampu menerapkan dan menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai representasi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa tipe Adversity Quotient berkontribusi terhadap variasi kedalaman pemahaman konsep bilangan siswa SMP.
