Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kesalahan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah fungsi trigonometri dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualtitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa baru di FMIPA Universitas Negeri Medan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa kesalahan terbesar yang dialami mahasiswa yaitu kesalahan konsep, yaitu kurangnya pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap sifat, aturan, penggunaan rumus dalam menyelesaikan masalah trigonometri. Kemudian diikuti dengan kesalahan prinsip, yaitu kurangnya pemahaman dan manipulasi syarat atau aturan untuk menentukan langkah penyelesaian masalah. Selanjtunya ada banyak penyebab kesalahan operasi, yaitu kurangnya pemahaman konsep dan prinsip, serta kesalahan dalam melakukan perhitungan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti akan lebih menekankan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran fungsi trigonometri.
