ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN METAKOGNISI SISWA SMP DI KABUPATEN PANDEGLANG

Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan metakognitif dalam pembelajaran matematika yang menuntut siswa tidak hanya memahami konsep, tetapi juga menyadari proses berpikir yang mereka lakukan. Kemampuan metakognisi membantu siswa merencanakan strategi, memantau proses penyelesaian, dan mengevaluasi efektivitas langkah yang digunakan. Observasi awal di beberapa SMP di Kabupaten Pandeglang menunjukkan bahwa siswa masih kesulitan menjelaskan alasan di balik prosedur penyelesaian, yang mengindikasikan rendahnya kesadaran metakognitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat kemampuan metakognisi siswa berdasarkan tiga aspek utama, yaitu planning, monitoring, dan evaluating. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 120 siswa kelas VII dari enam sekolah negeri dan swasta. Selain itu, 87 guru MGMP Matematika mengisi angket persepsi sebagai data pendukung untuk memperkuat interpretasi hasil tes. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes metakognitif berbentuk soal situasional dan angket skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan metakognitif siswa berada pada kategori rendah dengan rata-rata skor 62,5; aspek planning berada pada kategori sedang (68,2), sedangkan monitoring (60,5) dan evaluating (58,7) berada pada kategori rendah. Konsistensi hasil tes dan persepsi guru menunjukkan perlunya strategi pembelajaran yang memberi ruang bagi refleksi diri dan penilaian proses berpikir siswa secara berkelanjutan.
