Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis dan tingkat kesalahan yang dilakukan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal kesebangunan dan kekongruenan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 20 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Negeri Medan. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes uraian sebanyak empat soal yang dianalisis berdasarkan kerangka Newman Error Analysis, mencakup kesalahan membaca, memahami, transformasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan paling dominan terjadi pada tahap pemahaman (42,5%) dan transformasi (41,25%), yang tergolong dalam kategori sedang. Sementara itu, kesalahan membaca (38,75%), keterampilan proses (32,5%), dan penulisan jawaban (21,25%) tergolong rendah. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep dan menerapkan teorema geometri secara tepat. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi dosen dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir matematis mahasiswa.
