Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan keterampilan membaca dan menulis akademik antara mahasiswa dan AI guna mengidentifikasi perbedaan performa serta implikasinya terhadap literasi digital di perguruan tinggi. Data diperoleh dari 129 mahasiswa dan 8 output AI, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Independent Samples T-Test berbasis pendekatan nonparametrik Mann-Whitney U karena asumsi normalitas tidak terpenuhi. Analisis dilakukan dengan bantuan program Jamovi 2.6.26 yang menghasilkan nilai statistik, p-value, interval kepercayaan, serta ukuran efek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan pada keterampilan membaca (U = 181; p = 0,002; r = 0,650) maupun menulis akademik (U = 0,00; p < 0,001; r = 1,00). AI secara konsisten memperoleh skor lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa. Temuan ini menegaskan keunggulan teknis AI dalam mengolah teks akademik, sementara mahasiswa masih memiliki kelebihan pada aspek refleksi kritis, kreativitas, dan sensitivitas kontekstual. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam memperkaya kajian literasi akademik dengan menghadirkan perspektif komparatif antara manusia dan mesin, sekaligus memberikan dasar bagi pengembangan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif terhadap era digital berbasis kecerdasan buatan.
