Kajian Pembelajaran Geometri di SMP: Hambatan Belajar, Inovasi Pembelajaran, dan Prospek Penelitian

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pembelajaran geometri di SMP yang ditinjau dari hambatan belajar, inovasi pembelajaran, dan prospek penelitian di masa depan. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan, seperti jurnal bereputasi, buku, dan hasil penelitian terdahulu. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa siswa masih mengalami berbagai hambatan belajar, yaitu hambatan ontogenik, epistemologis, dan didaktis, yang menyebabkan rendahnya pemahaman konsep geometri, khususnya pada materi bangun datar. Selain itu, pembelajaran geometri di SMP masih didominasi pendekatan prosedural sehingga kurang menekankan pemahaman konseptual dan penalaran matematis siswa. Di sisi lain, berbagai inovasi pembelajaran seperti model Problem Posing, pendekatan Van Hiele, penggunaan media GeoGebra, serta integrasi etnomatematika terbukti dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Kajian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa asesmen pembelajaran masih berfokus pada hasil akhir, sehingga belum sepenuhnya mengukur proses berpikir siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan transformasi pembelajaran geometri yang lebih kontekstual, inovatif, dan berorientasi pada pengembangan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar dalam pengembangan strategi pembelajaran geometri yang lebih efektif di tingkat SMP.
