Dampak Integrasi STEAM Pada Proses Belajar Matematika Terhadap Criticall Thinking Skill

Pendidikan abad ke-21 menuntut pelajar menguasai berbagai kompetensi inti, termasuk critical thinking skill sebagai respon terhadap percepatan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Namun, pada tahun 2022 hasil dari Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) menunjukkan bahwa critical thinking skill matematis pelajar di Indonesia masih berada pada level rendah. Untuk mengatasi tantangan ini, diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran inovatif yang mampu memfasilitasi pengembangan keterampilan tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji penerapan integrasi STEAM (Science, Tehcnology, Engineering, Arts dan Mathematics) pada bidang matematika serta pengaruhnya dalam meningkatkan critical thinking skill pelajar. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan teknik analisis deskriptif melalui kajian pustaka dengan cara mengumpulkan kajian dari berbagai sumber seperti skripsi, tesis, dan jurnal. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis STEAM mendorong pelajar untuk menganalisis permasalahan kontekstual, merancang solusi kreatif, berkolaborasi dan bagaimana berkomunikasi secara efektif. Sejumlah penelitian membuktikan bahwa pendekatan ini memiliki hasil yang positif dan memiliki signifikansi yang baik dalam meningkatkan critical thinking skill di berbagai jenjang pendidikan di Indonesia. Integrasi STEAM direkomendasikan sebagai salah satu strategi dalam peningkatan critical thinking skill, pemahaman konsep, komunikasi matematis serta kolaborasi pelajar.Downloads
