Representasi Unsur Multikultural dalam Novel Negeri 5 Menara Karya Ahmad Fuadi
Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas representasi multikulturalisme dalam novel Negeri 5 Menara karya Ahmad Fuadi yang membahas tentang unsur-unsur multikultiral yang meliputi solidaritas dan persaudaraan, kesetaraan gender, perdagangan terbuka, nilai kekeluargaan, penghormatan terhadap tata susila, merasa cukup dalam hidup, serta berbagi dan kontrol kekuasaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan multikulturalisme dalam novel Negeri 5 Menara karya Ahmad Fuadi dengan menggunakan teori multikultural dari Nurgiantoro dan Thobroni. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi teks dan dokumentasi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Tahapan penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara, (1) reduksi data, (2) penyajian data, dan (3) penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel novel Negeri 5 Menara karya Ahmad Fuadi mengekspresikan tujuh unsur multikultural, yaitu solidaritas dan persaudaraan, kesetaraan gender, perdagangan terbuka, nilai kekeluargaan, penghormatan terhadap tata susila, merasa cukup dalam hidup, serta berbagi dan kontrol kekuasaan. Unsur multikulturalisme yang paling banyak dalam novel novel Negeri 5 Menara adalah solidaritas dan persaudaraan. Sehubungan dengan itu, hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan dan media untuk pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra di sekolah.
