National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in 2024 report that Indonesia possesses high level of species richness and endemism in plant. Meanwhile, threats to biodiversity are increasing due to land-use change, pollution, exploitation, invasive alien species, climate change, and other anthropogenic activities. The limited availability of conservation areas, coupled with the distribution of endemic and rare species within anthropogenic landscapes, underscores the importance of promoting participatory conservation efforts such as arboretum establishment. In 2015, 99 trees species were recorded in the Arboretum of the Faculty of Biology, Jenderal Soedirman University, seven of which were classified as threatened, Vulnerable (VU) or Endangered (EN) according to the IUCN Red List. This study aimed to provide latest information about threatened trees and it condition in the Arboretum. Data were collected using an observational method. The result of this study show only 4 threatened tree species were identified: Adonidia merrillii (VU), Castanopsis argentea (EN), Mesua ferrea (VU), and Tectona grandis (EN). Observation showed that A. merrillii, C. argentea, and M. ferrea are free from pest and disease. But, T. grandis was found to be affected by termite. The arboretum serves a conservation not only through preservation, but also as a natural laboratory for educational and research activities.
