Many teaching practices remain teacher-centered, hindering the optimization of their learning experiences. One of the most common problems associated is the limited availability of attractive and engaging learning media. This particular problem is also encountered in biology learning, with commonly associated topics that require adequate and appropriate visualizations to support students’ conceptual understanding. One learning medium that can address the limitations of biology learning media is the Snakes and Ladders game. This study aims to develop a Snakes and Ladders game as a learning medium for the excretory system and to assess its validity. This study uses the Research and Development method, with the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) model, which is limited to the third stage. The validation process used a validation sheet as the instrument, comprising six aspects, which is then categorized. The validation results revealed high scores. The medium's format aspect (4 items) resulted in a range of 85–90%, categorizing it as very valid. The medium's quality aspect (4 items) scores ranged from 85–100%, indicating it is very valid. Meanwhile, the medium's functionality aspect (4 items) ranged from 90–100%, indicating it is valid. The learning content aspect (3 items) revealed scores ranging from 90–100%, placing it in the very valid category. The language aspect (3 items) yielded scores ranging from 90–100%, thereby making it very valid. The learning process aspect (11 items) yielded scores ranging from 95–100%, indicating it is very valid. The average validation score is 96% (very valid). Therefore, it is concluded that the Snakes and Ladders media for the human excretory system is valid for use in classroom practices. The developed Snakes and Ladders game is then revised according to the experts’ suggestions. Therefore, the learning medium is declared ready for testing in classroom practice.
