Pengetahuan atas sistem penggolongan darah ABO sangat penting sebagai upaya pengenalan diri lebih komprehensif dan bentuk upaya antisipatif dalam kondisi darurat medis. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui proporsi golongan darah dan frekuensi alel mahasiswa sarjana dan diploma FMIPA Unila berdasarkan sistem ABO. Penelitian telah dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner dan informed consent secara daring. Dari 3.244 total mahasiswa, didapatkan informasi bahwa 384 mahasiswa telah mengetahui golongan darahnya. Proporsi tertinggi golongan darah mahasiswa sarjana dan diploma FMIPA Unila adalah O dengan persentase 36,72%, diikuti dengan golongan darah B (28,13%), golongan darah A (25,52%) dan golongan darah AB (9,64%). Berdasarkan formulasi perhitungan Hukum Hardy-Weinberg, diketahui bahwa frekuensi alel A, B, dan O berturut-turut adalah 0,18; 0,21; dan 0,61.
