Matematika Sebagai Penemuan: Perspektif Platonisme Dan Implikasinya Dalam Pembelajaran Matematika

Artikel ini mengkaji pandangan Platonisme dalam filsafat matematika serta implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran matematika. Kajian berangkat dari persoalan ontologis mengenai status keberadaan objek-objek matematika, apakah merupakan ciptaan manusia atau realitas objektif yang telah ada secara independen. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi konseptual-filosofis melalui analisis literatur primer dan sekunder yang relevan dengan filsafat matematika, khususnya Platonisme. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Platonisme memandang objek matematika sebagai entitas abstrak yang bersifat universal, abadi, dan independen dari pikiran manusia. Pandangan ini memberikan implikasi pedagogis yang signifikan, yaitu mendorong pembelajaran berbasis eksplorasi, pengembangan apresiasi terhadap kedalaman dan keindahan matematika, penumbuhan rasa kagum terhadap keteraturan alam semesta, penguatan kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta pengembangan koneksi filosofis dalam proses belajar. Selain itu, relevansi Platonisme masih terlihat dalam praktik matematika modern melalui kemampuannya menjelaskan objektivitas matematika dan efektivitasnya dalam memahami fenomena alam. Dengan demikian, integrasi perspektif Platonisme dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat memperkaya landasan filosofis pendidikan matematika dan mendukung pembentukan peserta didik yang berpikir kritis, reflektif, serta mampu menghargai kebenaran dan keindahan pengetahuan matematis.
