Pengaruh Pendekatan Matematika Realistik Berorientasi HOTS terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi dan Disposisi Matematis Siswa SMP

Pembelajaran matematika yang masih menggunakan pendekatan konvensional cenderung kurang bermakna dan belum mengaitkan konsep dengan konteks nyata, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya pemahaman peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penerapan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR) sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualitas dan kebermaknaan pembelajaran matematika. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa siswa kelas VII SMP N 1 Sipirok Tapanuli Selatan. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari tes kemampuan awal matematika, tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis, angket disposisi skala likert, lembar observasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U, ANOVA Dua Jalur dan ANAVA Satu Jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi dan disposisi matematis siswa yang diberi pendekatan PMR secara signifikan lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang diberi pendekatan konvensional. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah yang diberi pendekatan PMR, sedangkan pada peningkatan disposisi matematis antara siswa kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah yang diberi pendekatan PMR tidak terdapat perbedaan, tidak terdapat interaksi antara pendekatan pembelajaran dan kemampuan matematika siswa terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi dan disposisi matematis. Hasil penelitian, jumlah dan persentase siswa yang memperoleh batas skor 65% atau lebih pada postes kemampuan komunikasi matematis untuk kelompok pendekatan PMR sebanyak 38 dari 65 orang atau sebesar 58,46% dan kelompok pendekatan konvensional sebanyak 22 dari 63 orang atau sebesar 34,92%. Hasil penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya penerapan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik berorientasi HOTS sebagai alternatif pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi dan disposisi matematis siswa SMP.
