Problem Based Learning dalam Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Operasi Polinomial Siswa Kelas XI

Rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada materi operasi polinomial menunjukkan adanya kelemahan dalam penguasaan konsep aljabar dasar, khususnya dalam memahami struktur polinomial dan prosedur operasinya. Kesulitan ini tidak hanya berdampak pada capaian pembelajaran saat ini, tetapi juga berpotensi menghambat pemahaman materi aljabar lanjutan yang bersifat hierarkis. Salah satu faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap permasalahan tersebut adalah dominannya pembelajaran berpusat pada guru, yang membatasi kesempatan siswa untuk membangun pemahaman melalui proses pemecahan masalah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi pembelajaran yang mampu mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa sekaligus mengaitkan konsep polinomial dengan situasi masalah yang bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi operasi polinomial. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan di kelas XI MAN 1 Probolinggo dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 24 siswa. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang masing-masing meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar dan lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran serta memperbaiki hasil belajar pada materi operasi polinomial. Dengan demikian, model Problem Based Learning dapat dijadikan alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang efektif untuk memperkuat pemahaman konsep dan meningkatkan prestasi belajar matematika siswa.Downloads
