Eksplorasi Alat Musik Saron Dalam Gamelan Banyumas : Sebuah Kajian Etnomatematika

Saron adalah bagian integral dari ansambel gamelan Banyumas yang banyak melibatkan unsur-unsur matematis seperti pola bilangan, frekuensi dan rasio serta geometri. Akan tetapi alat musik jenis saron masih belum banyak dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran matematika di Sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi unsur-unsur matematika dan nilai-nilai yang tekandung dalam alat musik saron pada gamelan Banyumas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Subjek informan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengelola komunitas dan pemain saron pada gamelan Banyumas. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat musik saron memiliki hubungan erat dengan konsep matematika. Dari sisi fisik, struktur bilah saron mencerminkan konsep geometri, pengukuran, rasio, dan frekuensi, di mana ukuran bilah memengaruhi tinggi rendahnya nada yang dihasilkan. Sementara itu, pola permainan saron seperti teknik mbalung, imbal, dan nyacah mencerminkan konsep pola bilangan, keteraturan, dan pengulangan yang sistematis. Secara filosofis, saron mencerminkan keharmonisan dan kerja sama dalam sistem gamelan sebagimana dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakat banyumas yang menjunjung tinggi nilai kebersamaan. Rekomendasi hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran matematika yang kontekstual dan bermakna berbasis kearifan lokal khususnya di Banyumas.
