Penerapan Problem Based Learning untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa pada Materi Lingkaran
Abstract
Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis penting untuk dimiliki oleh setiap siswa, baik dalam pembelajaran di kelas maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa adalah dengan menerapkan pembelajaran inovatif dan kreatif, di mana siswa dapat terlibat aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) dengan subjek sebanyak 36 siswa kelas XI-8 yang terdiri atas 16 laki-laki dan 20 perempuan di SMA Negeri 8 Semarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada tahap pra siklus, yaitu 55,39, meningkat menjadi 67,36 pada tahap siklus I, dan meningkat lagi menjadi 76,42 pada siklus II. Di sisi lain, persentase ketuntasan klasikal juga mengalami peningkatan, yaitu 30,56% pada tahap pra siklus, meningkat menjadi 52,78% pada tahap siklus I, dan meningkat lagi pada tahap siklus II menjadi 77,78%. Oleh karena itu, dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan model PBL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan matematis siswa, khususnya pada materi lingkaran.
