Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika materi SPLDV pada Siswa Kelas VIII UPT SMP Negeri Benteng Utara No. 4 Kepulauan Selayar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII UPT SMP Negeri Benteng Utara No. 4 Kepulauan Selayar sebanyak 6 siswa yaitu 2 siswa jawaban lengkap dan benar, 2 siswa jawaban tidak lengkap dan benar, dan 2 siswa jawaban salah. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika, dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) siswa jawaban lengkap dan benar mampu menyelesaikan masalah dengan benar dan mampu memenuhi semua indikator pemecahan masalah menurut Polya. (2) siswa jawaban tidak lengkap dan benar mampu menyelesaikan masalah dengan benar, akan tetapi tidak memenuhi semua indikator pemecahan masalah menurut Polya. (3) siswa jawaban salah belum mampu menyelesaikan masalah dengan benar dan belum mampu memenuhi semua indikator pemecahan masalah menurut Polya.
