Perbedaan Kemampuan Menceritakan Kembali Antara Siswa yang Belajar melalui Media Video dan Media Teks di Kelas 8

Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan menceritakan kembali antara siswa kelas VIII yang belajar menggunakan media video dan siswa yang belajar menggunakan media teks. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi experiment). Sampel penelitian berjumlah 30 siswa yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu 15 siswa pada kelompok media video dan 15 siswa pada kelompok media teks. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan menceritakan kembali yang diberikan setelah pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji independent samples t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok yang belajar menggunakan media video memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 72,53, sedangkan kelompok yang belajar menggunakan media teks memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 39,07. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok.
Temuan ini mengindikasi bahwa siswa yang belajar menggunakan media video menunjukkan kemampuan menceritakan kembali yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang belajar menggunakan media teks, yang diduga terkait dengan perpaduan unsur visual dan auditori pada media video. Karena desain penelitian ini bersifta posttest-only tanpa pretes, temuan tersebut perlu dimaknai sebagai bukti hubungan asosiatif, bukan hubungan kausal yang definitif. Meskipun demikian, media video berpotensi dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif media pembelajaran untuk mendukung kemampuan menceritakan kembali siswa pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia tingkat SMP.
