Pengayaan Strategi Positive Politeness Brown & Levinson dalam Diskursus Politik Indonesia Kontemporer: Studi Kasus Dialog Rocky Gerung–Mahfud Md

Abstract
Studi ini menganalisis strategi kesopanan positif dalam ujaran yang dipertukarkan antara Rocky Gerung dan Mahfud MD dengan menggunakan kerangka teori Brown dan Levinson (1987), yang selanjutnya diteliti melalui variabel P–D–R: Kekuasaan, Jarak, dan Peringkat Pemaksaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan pragmatis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan fokus khusus pada teori kesopanan Brown dan Levinson (1987). Data penelitian terdiri dari data percakapan antara Rocky Gerung dan Mahfud MD, sedangkan sumber data diperoleh dari rekaman video percakapan mereka yang tersedia untuk umum yang diunggah ke YouTube pada tahun 2025. Data dianalisis melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu transkripsi, identifikasi strategi, klasifikasi tambahan, interpretasi kontekstual, dan penyajian temuan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa, selain strategi kesopanan positif yang dirumuskan dalam teori yang ada, dua strategi baru yang muncul secara kontekstual diidentifikasi: Strategi Klarifikasi Rasional dan Strategi Membangun Kredibilitas Moral. Strategi Klarifikasi Rasional ditunjukkan ketika pembicara menekankan bahwa kritik keras tidak dimaksudkan sebagai serangan pribadi, melainkan sebagai bentuk kepedulian terhadap kepentingan publik. Sementara itu, Strategi Membangun Kredibilitas Moral tercermin dalam ungkapan yang menyoroti integritas dan hati nurani lawan bicara, sehingga menjaga hubungan harmonis di tengah kritik. Kedua temuan ini menunjukkan dinamika baru dalam praktik kesopanan politik di Indonesia, di mana kesopanan tidak hanya berfungsi untuk menjaga muka individu, tetapi juga untuk memperkuat dimensi moral dan legitimasi wacana.
