This study examines the implementation of curriculum management in small schools through a literature review of national research published over the past ten years. Small schools, characterized by limited numbers of teachers, minimal facilities, and multiple teaching assignments, face unique challenges in curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation. The findings show that curriculum planning in small schools is adaptive and pragmatic, emphasizing core competencies that can realistically be achieved. Curriculum implementation is flexible and personalized, marked by close teacher–student relationships and teacher creativity in utilizing the local environment as a learning resource. Curriculum evaluation is mostly conducted informally through regular reflections and discussions among teachers. This study emphasizes that the success of curriculum management in small schools depends on adaptive capacity, collaboration, teacher creativity, and policy support that is sensitive to the conditions of small schools, particularly within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum.
