ANALISIS POTENSI SIMPANAN KARBON BAMBU BETUNG (Dendrocalamus asper)

Hutan mengabsorpsi CO2 selama proses fotosintesis dan menyimpannya sebagai materi organik dalam biomassa tanaman, begitu pula dengan tanaman bambu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi biomassa dan karbon bambu betung (Dendrocalamus asper) di Kabupaten Ngada, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan dengan dua tahap kegiatan, yaitu tahap pertama pengambilan data di lapangan dan tahap kedua menganalisa karbon terikat bagian-bagian tanaman dilakukan di laboratorium. Peubah yang diukur di lapangan adalah berat basah, sedangkan di laboratorium yang diukur adalah kadar air, kadar zat terbang, kadar abu dan kadar karbon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan karbon terikat bambu bambu betung (Dendrocalamus asper) masing-masing sebesar 30,17 %, 21,06 % dan 19,13 % untuk bagian akar, batang dan daun.
