AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK METANOL DAUN COCOR BEBEK (Kalanchoe Pinnata (Lam.) Pers.) TERHADAP Propionibacterium acnes DAN Staphylococcus aureus

Infeksi pada kulit atau jerawat adalah masalah yang disebabkan oleh bakteri, salah satu bakteri penyebab jerawat adalah bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus aureus. Terapi untuk mengatasi jerawat ini dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan obat herbal. Kini banyak masyarakat yang menggunakan obat herbal karena relative lebih aman dibandingkan dengan obat-obatan kimia sehingga mudah diperoleh, murah, tidak terjadi resistance, dan tidak berbahaya terhadap lingkungan sekitarnya. Salah satu tanaman herbal yang dapat dijadikan obat penyakit kulit yaitu daun cocor bebek, dari beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tananaman ini memiliki potensi untuk menghambat bakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak metanol daun cocor bebek terhadap Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus aureus pada konsentrasi 20%, 40%, dan 60%. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode difusi agar dan difusi chakram pada media Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) dengan beberapa konsentrasi ekstrak metanol dari daun cocor bebek yaitu 20%, 40%, 60% serta kontrol positive clindamycin untuk bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dan Ciprofloxacin untuk bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, dan DMSO sebagai kontrol negatif. Diameter hambat yang dihasilkan pada pengujian ekstrak metanol daun cocor bebek terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes adalah konsentrasi 20% (9,77 mm), 40% (11,25 mm), 60% (11,61 mm). Sedangkan pada bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, konsentrasi 20% (11,58), 40% (14,75) dan 60% (17,08) mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak metanol daun cocor bebek memiliki aktivitas menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dan Staphylococcus aureus.
